AI football site nearly nails Vietnam’s key ASEAN Cup 2026 wins
A Portugal-based AI football prediction site has caught fans’ attention after coming remarkably close to forecasting the scorelines of several of Vietnam’s key victories at the ASEAN Cup 2026.

Football Prediction AI, which has been operating for four years, uses AI to analyze match data and generate forecasts ranging from likely scorelines to goal probabilities and over-under outcomes.
Its bold predictions for Vietnam have proved surprisingly accurate during the tournament.
Before Vietnam’s away group-stage match against Indonesia, the website predicted a 4-0 victory for Kim Sang Sik’s side. Vietnam eventually won 3-0.
It again forecast a 4-0 win for Vietnam in the first leg of the semifinals against Malaysia. The actual result was 2-0.
For the second leg, however, the AI platform got the score exactly right, predicting Vietnam’s 2-0 victory over Malaysia.
The website then tipped Vietnam to beat Thailand 3-0 at Rajamangala Stadium in the first leg of the final.
Vietnam fell just one goal short of that prediction, defeating the hosts 2-0 to take a commanding advantage into the return leg.
The run of close forecasts has attracted growing attention from football fans, particularly because the AI platform has repeatedly backed Vietnam to record convincing wins in matches generally expected to be much tighter.
Vietnam and Thailand will meet again in the second leg of the final at My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi at 8:00 pm on August 26.
The 2026 ASEAN Championship, held from July 24 to August 26, brought together 10 Southeast Asian teams divided into two groups, with Vietnam and Thailand eventually advancing to the two-legged final.
Vietnam put themselves in a strong position to retain the title after beating Thailand 2-0 at Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok in the first leg on Saturday.
The rivals will meet again at My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi at 8:00 pm on Wednesday, with Vietnam carrying a two-goal advantage into the decisive second leg.
