Air defense-air force units hold major exercise in central Vietnam

As planned, the three-day exercise, running from Tuesday to Thursday, involves personnel from such air divisions as the 375th and 372nd, along with a wide range of military equipment, in a series of simulated operational scenarios.

The exercise is being conducted as a two-level, one-sided command-and-staff exercise on maps, combined with a field component.

Lieutenant General Son said the large-scale exercise is partly intended to prepare the forces for an exercise with a military region later this year.

“Daily training and practice are essential,” he said.

“No matter how advanced the weapons and equipment are, the most important factor remains the human element.”

According to the commander, the exercise provides an opportunity for troops and other participating personnel to hone their skills and become proficient in the procedures and sequence of actions required when situations arise, particularly in air defense operations.

The training is aimed at ensuring that personnel are ready to carry out their missions and uphold the principle of firmly safeguarding the skies over the nation.
