The incident occurred on Friday morning as Grosman Eugenne, a U.S. national, was completing immigration procedures at the Lao Bao International Border Gate in Quang Tri Province, northern Vietnam.

He suddenly experienced hypoglycemia and dizziness, showed signs of a stroke, and collapsed in the immigration area.

Border guards at the border gate and local medical quarantine staff quickly provided first aid and assessed his condition.

His health later stabilized following the timely assistance.

Eugenne told medical staff that he has no wife or children and expressed a wish to donate his organs to Vietnam after his death.

He said he hoped the donation could help save patients and give others a chance at life.
