This project marks the ninth facility the company has supported since 2015.
This new facility, facilitated by Saigon Children’s Charity CIO, benefits around 40 children aged 3-5.
Constructed about 60 years ago, the original facility was once the commune’s only preschool and had deteriorated significantly.
The children in this remote area, which is some 250 kilometers away from Ho Chi Minh City and near the border with Cambodia, can now enjoy a new, safe, high-quality school environment that meets the standards set by Vietnam’s education authorities.
“Offering safe and inspiring school facilities to children in remote areas is one of our key contributions to Vietnam, enhancing access to education, thus their future success,” said Erick Contreras, managing director of BASF Vietnam.

The company’s initiative has benefited almost 1,000 schoolchildren at different levels.
“A key highlight is our collaborative approach with BASF customers and partners, reflecting our shared long-term commitment to Vietnam’s education development,” Contreras stressed.
Apart from the local authorities’ budget, the school has been rebuilt thanks to sponsorship from BASF, individual donors, and other co-sponsors, including MKVN Chemicals, now part of Azelis, SamChem Sphere, Tam Tran Co., and Viet Duc Lubricants & Chemicals.
In addition, the new classrooms utilized products that meet Green Label Certifications sponsored by Nippon Paint Vietnam.
The decorative paints, using raw materials supplied by BASF, provide long-term benefits in terms of health and safety.

The roof of the new facility uses Phuong Nam Panel-sponsored Procy sandwich panels manufactured on European technology lines, also featuring ingredients from BASF resulting in energy efficiency.
According to data collected before the national provincial merger in July 2025, An Giang had a total land area of over 3,500 square kilometers and was the most populous province with over 2.1 million people.
The new An Giang Province was formed by merging the old province with Kien Giang Province.
Apart from the school renovation program, BASF Vietnam is also engaged in various long-term community projects focusing on educational development.
BASF Kids’ Lab, in partnership with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, offers hands-on activities to help children learn about chemistry, benefiting around 5,000 elementary students since 2011.
BASF Virtual Lab, an online platform, provides a variety of interactive chemistry experiments in Vietnamese, now offering 14 virtual experiments for elementary students to learn about chemistry with just a few clicks.
Since 2019, the company has partnered with Think Playgrounds to build eight public playgrounds, mostly on the outskirts of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, helping almost 32,000 children learn through play and develop multiple skills through outdoor activities.
