-- The northern and southern regions of Vietnam are forecast to see hot weather on Thursday, with temperatures reaching up to 36 degrees Celsius, while parts of central Vietnam may experience showers and heavy rain in the late afternoon and evening, according to the national weather center.

-- Dong Nai officially becomes Vietnam’s seventh centrally governed city on Thursday.

-- A 37-kilometer stretch of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway, which connects Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai in southern Vietnam, opened to traffic at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, allowing cars with fewer than nine seaters to travel at a maximum speed of 80 kph.

-- The North-South Expressway from Hanoi to Ca Mau Province has 21 rest stops in operation during the Reunification Day (April 30) and International Workers’ Day (May 1) holiday, with an average spacing of about 100 kilometers between each stop, according to the Department for Roads of Vietnam.
