-- The Khanh Hoa Military Command’s search and recovery team has found the remains of 36 fallen soldiers at the former Thanh Dien Khanh prison site in Dien Khanh Commune, Khanh Hoa Province, with the search operation now completed, a military official said Sunday night, adding that the number of remains recovered was much higher than initially estimated.

-- Khanh Hoa police on Sunday said that they had initiated legal proceedings against an Indonesian man and a Vietnamese man for allegedly illegally transporting more than 180,000 live lobster seedlings across the border after authorities found the animals in their checked luggage on a flight from Singapore to Cam Ranh International Airport on August 17.

-- Thanh Hoa police have recently detected several drones entering restricted airspace around Tho Xuan Airport, prompting authorities to step up patrols and monitoring of drones, review local drone-related online groups and businesses that sell or modify the devices, as well as urge residents to report violations and drone users to voluntarily hand over their devices to police.

-- Anh Viet Hop On Hop Off Vietnam, a two-story sightseeing bus operator, is running around 48 trips a day on two routes around Ho Chi Minh City, serving about 1,000 passengers daily during this year's National Day holiday, which runs from August 28 to September 2.

-- More than 1,000 people on Sunday joined a community cycling parade in Ho Chi Minh City as part of the Saigontourist Group Community Cycling Day 2026, a large-scale community sports event held over two days, August 29-30.

-- Thousands of local and international visitors on Sunday afternoon flocked to Nha Trang Beach in Khanh Hoa Province, south-central Vietnam, to beat the heat during the five-day National Day holiday, packing the beach and keeping umbrella and beach chair rental services at full capacity.

-- Thousands of locals and tourists have flocked to Hung Vuong Square in Ca Mau Province’s Bac Lieu Ward during the first three days of the Ca Mau Hot Air Balloon Festival 2026, which runs from August 28 to September 2, with 34 colorful balloons representing Vietnam’s 34 provinces and cities taking to the sky.
