-- Vietnamese Party General Secretary To Lam met with President of the Lao National Assembly Saysomphone Phomvihane in Vientiane on Monday, as part of the Vietnamese leader’s ongoing state visit to Laos.

-- Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone affirmed at the meeting with Party chief Lam on Monday that Laos would create more favorable conditions for Vietnamese investors.

-- State President Luong Cuong held talks in Hanoi on Monday with Sultan of Brunei Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, who is on a three-day state visit to Vietnam through Tuesday. The two leaders affirmed that enhancing maritime cooperation will be essential in the period ahead.

Society

-- The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) expressed satisfaction with Vietnam’s preparations for the integrated review of its nuclear infrastructure, heard a working session between the Ministry of Science and Technology and the IAEA delegation in Hanoi on Monday.

-- Viet Duc University Hospital in Hanoi successfully carried out a series of multi-organ procurement and transplantation procedures from three brain-dead donors on Saturday and Sunday last week, giving new life to eight patients with severe illnesses and improving the quality of life for six other patients.

-- The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has issued a new scheme on training and capacity building for officials and public employees involved in developing the city’s urban railway network for the 2025-30 period, with a vision toward 2050.

-- Nguyen Dong Chi Book Street in Tan My Ward, Ho Chi Minh City will be opened to the public in the first quarter of 2026.

-- A mass Vovinam martial arts performance featuring 60,000 students in Ho Chi Minh City set a new world record as the city marked the 50th anniversary of its education and training sector on November 30, reported the Vietnam News Agency.

Economy

-- The Ministry of Industry and Trade is preparing to submit to the prime minister a set of major policy proposals, including a plan to convert nearly 7,000 traditional markets into modern convenience stores and shopping centers.
