-- Police in Hanoi have determined that Nhat Anh Import-Export Service and Trading Company, the supplier of semi-boarding meals for four elementary schools in the capital, committed a series of serious violations related to food hygiene and safety.

-- Police and investigators in Ninh Binh Province, northern Vietnam simultaneously inspected two bars in Hoa Lu Ward late on Friday and in the wee hours of Saturday, detecting 30 people that tested positive for drugs.

-- Vietnam Airlines will operate nearly 270 additional flights on key domestic routes to meet the surge in travel demand during the upcoming New Year holiday, while Vietnam Railways will operate additional passenger trains and attach extra carriages to existing services, providing a total of 20,000 extra seats, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

-- State-run Vietcombank has issued a resolution of its board of directors approving a plan to increase the charter capital of Vietcombank Securities Company (VCBS) from VND2.5 trillion (US$94.8) to VND12.5 trillion ($474 million).

-- Vingroup has announced the dissolution of VinMedtech High-Tech Medical Investment Joint Stock Company, headquartered in Hanoi, to the State Securities Commission of Vietnam and local stock exchanges. According to Vingroup, the dissolution is intended to restructure the operations of its subsidiaries.
