-- Hanoi police said on Tuesday they had arrested and charged Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, 46, director of Ngoc Viet Education Co Ltd, with fraud as she had sold tickets to a music show that she knew could not legally take place before canceling it.

-- The expanded Ho Chi Minh City, formed by a merger with neighboring Binh Duong and Ba Ria–Vung Tau Provinces, has more than six million young people, including 3.3 million youths and 2.7 million children, accounting for nearly half of its estimated 14 million population, according to official figures released recently.

-- Ho Chi Minh City’s tourism sector maintained strong growth in 2025, with international arrivals estimated at about 8.56 million, domestic visitors at roughly 45.6 million, and total tourism revenue reaching around VND279 trillion (US$10.6 billion), or 101 percent of its annual target, officials said on Tuesday.

Technology

-- Vietnam’s technology sector recorded estimated revenue of $198 billion in 2025, up nearly 26 percent from 2024, while exports of digital technology products were projected to reach $172 billion, 1.7 times higher than in 2020, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung said at a national forum in Hanoi on Tuesday.

-- Vietnam’s Viettel said on Tuesday it had successfully tested 5G Advanced technology with partners Ericsson and MediaTek, achieving download speeds of up to 7.3 gigabits per second, about six times faster than its current 5G standalone network. The firm plans to roll out the technology commercially in 2026.

-- Vietnam’s FPT Corp said on Tuesday it had delivered its first shipment of power-management chips to a leading Japanese electronics company via distributor Restar, marking the initial export of FPT-designed semiconductors to the Asia-Pacific market under a three-year agreement to supply up to 10 million chips.

Sports

-- Vietnamese grandmaster Le Quang Liem scored 12 points and defeated reigning world champion Gukesh D on the final day to finish in the top 33 of the open section, while 14-year-old Dau Khuong Duy beat nine grandmasters to finish with 11 points at the World Rapid and Blitz Chess Championships 2025 in Qatar.

-- the Vietnamese women’s volleyball team finished 28th in the FIVB world rankings at the end of the 2025 season with 136.75 points, ranking fourth in Asia behind Japan, China, and Thailand.
