-- Northern Vietnamese provinces are expected to see heavy rain on Saturday morning, while the southern region may experience scattered downpours and thunderstorms by late afternoon, according to the national weather center.

-- Since the beginning of July, Ho Chi Minh City police have issued digital identification accounts to more than 2,200 foreigners, averaging over 400 applications per day, the municipal police department’s immigration division confirmed on Friday.

-- A preliminary report depicted confusion in the cockpit shortly before an Air India jetliner crashed, killing 260 people last month, after the plane's engine fuel cutoff switches almost simultaneously flipped, starving the engines of fuel, according to Reuters.
