-- In response to a question at a regular press briefing in Hanoi on Thursday about a recent clash between Filipino and Chinese vessels around Bai Co May (Second Thomas Shoal) in the East Vietnam Sea, spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang said Vietnam urges the parties concerned to act with restraint, respect the sovereign rights and jurisdiction of coastal states over their exclusive economic zones and continental shelves as established in accordance with the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, and fully and effectively implement the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties (DOC).

-- Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi has successfully saved the lives of two men, one Vietnamese and one Chinese, who were suffering from severe malaria.
