-- Vietnam Airlines said on Tuesday it had secured a preliminary commitment from the Export–Import Bank of the United States for loan guarantees of up to US$2.9 billion to support its purchase of 50 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
-- Vietnam Airlines said Pacific Airlines’ accumulated losses had widened to VND10.68 trillion ($405.7 million) by the end of 2025 after a VND565 billion ($21.5 million) pretax loss for the year, prompting the national carrier to pursue a plan to divest its entire stake in the financially troubled airline.
-- A Vietnam-Canada climate finance program launched on Tuesday aims to help climate-focused businesses attract about five dollars of private investment for every dollar of Canadian ODA funding through a blended-finance matching grant mechanism.
-- A Vietnam-built offshore energy construction support vessel, REM Ocean, has been delivered to Norway’s Rem Offshore and is en route for final outfitting in Norway, marking the second of two such vessels ordered from Vietnam.
-- The State Bank of Vietnam said reserves stood at nearly $87.6 billion as of June 18, down from a January 2022 peak of over $111.8 billion after earlier accumulation and subsequent intervention to stabilize the forex market amid global volatility.

-- Ho Chi Minh City police have charged a 26-year-old man with property destruction after he spray-painted advertising panels on the protective fence of the under-construction Saigon River pedestrian bridge project, causing damage valued at more than VND30 million ($1,140).
-- Many cafés in Ho Chi Minh City have extended operations to 24 hours a day and reported customer traffic and revenue increases of 40 percent to 70 percent during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as fans flock to venues to watch matches played outside Vietnam’s prime viewing hours.
-- Ho Chi Minh City will stage fireworks at 16 sites, including five high-altitude and 11 low-altitude locations, from 9:00 pm to 9:15 pm on July 2 to mark the 50th anniversary of the city bearing President Ho Chi Minh’s name, according to a municipal directive.
