-- Hai Phong City in northern Vietnam has set a goal to develop into a modern, smart coastal metropolis with international competitiveness by 2050.

-- Hue City in central Vietnam has banned all fishing activities, including angling, along sections of rivers in the city center such as the Huong and Ngu Ha Rivers to protect aquatic life and improve the tourism landscape.

-- Investigators and police officers in Ho Chi Minh City have dismantled a major ring trafficking synthetic drugs from Cambodia to Tay Ninh Province for distribution across Tay Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City, Tra Vinh, and Dak Lak, arresting 30 traffickers and seizing over 17 kilograms of narcotics.
-- Sixteen bus routes in the southern metropolis started to stop issuing paper tickets and switch to electronic tickets for passengers from March.
-- Ho Chi Minh City authorities have ordered stricter management and inspections of service establishments vulnerable to prostitution-related activities such as hotels, karaoke parlors, spas, and rental apartments to promptly detect and handle violations.
-- Ho Chi Minh City will develop a mobile app to provide residents with information about environmental quality, while stepping up inspections and taking stricter action against environmental violations.
Economy
-- The Ministries of Industry-Trade and Finance revised down domestic retail fuel prices at 10:00 pm on Wednesday. Accordingly, E5RON92 gasoline is capped at VND22,950 (US$0.87) per liter, while RON95-III sells for VND25,240 ($0.96).
