-- China's organizing an illegal tourism route to the Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelago in the East Vietnam Sea is a serious infringement of Vietnam’s sovereignty over the islands and a violation of international law, Foreign Ministry spokesman Le Hai Binh said Monday.

-- Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Monday requested that state bodies, from all levels, should stop accepting luxury cars as gifts from businesses, following the infamous cases in Da Nang City and Ca Mau Province.

-- Vietnamese soldiers and veterans are scheduled to gather today in memory of 64 Vietnamese naval soldiers who fell protecting Vietnamese sovereignty against Chinese invaders in the historic battle on March 14, 1988 on Gac Ma Island (Johnson South Reef) of the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago in the East Vietnam Sea.

-- A husband strangled his wife to death before hanging himself in a murder-suicide at the couple's home in the southern province of Binh Duong, police said Monday, adding the man had acted out of jealousy after discovering his spouse's affair with another man.

-- More than 1,000 child molestation cases have been recorded in Vietnam in the last three years, meaning one child would fall victim to sexual abuse every eight hours, according to data gathered by Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper.

-- An anti-suicide fence has been erected on the first to seventh floors at the general hospital of the central province of Quang Ngai, after five patients chose to kill themselves at the clinic in only eight months.

-- Vietnam’s exports topped US$27.3 billion in the first two month of this year, a 15.4 percent year-on-year increase, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said on Monday.

-- Vinamilk, Vietnam’s largest dairy producer, on Monday put to use an $8.7 million organic dairy farm, the first of its kind in the country to adhere to the European standard, in the Central Highlands province of Lam Dong.
