-- The Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said on Tuesday that Vietnam opposes the use of force against sovereign nations, responding to reporters’ questions about the recent escalation of tensions in the Middle East.

-- A whirlwind accompanied by heavy rain and gusts swept through Ba Vi Commune in Quang Ngai Province, south-central Vietnam on Tuesday afternoon, damaging 116 homes and temporarily cutting off several rural roads.

-- Hanoi police on Tuesday said they had dismantled a transnational cyber fraud ring operating from apartments in the city, detaining three Chinese and four Japanese nationals accused of impersonating Japanese police and judicial authorities to scam victims out of about VND11 billion (US$419,850).

-- The Drug Administration of Vietnam has revoked the registration of 291 cosmetic products and ordered a nationwide recall of all unexpired batches after ASEAN cosmetic authorities determined they contain Cyclotetrasiloxane and Octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane, substances now prohibited under updated regulations.

-- Ho Chi Minh City will waive fares on 118 bus routes and metro line No. 1 on March 15 to facilitate voters traveling to polling stations for the 16th National Assembly and 2026–31 People’s Council elections, the city’s Management Center of Public Transport said.

Economy

-- Hanoi collected VND190.6 trillion ($7.27 billion) in state budget revenue in the first two months of the year, equivalent to 29.3 percent of its annual target and up 9.5 percent from a year earlier, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

-- Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training has issued Circular 09/2026 regulating foreign language and Vietnamese proficiency tests, consolidating prior rules and allowing institutions to expand testing, including overseas.

Culture

-- Authorities in Hai Phong City on Tuesday evening inaugurated the 1,350-seat Hoa Phuong Theater, a newly-built venue equipped to host large-scale artistic performances, symphony concerts, operas, and national and international cultural events.

-- All three performances presented by the Vietnam Circus Federation won awards at the 2026 International Circus Festival Gold Elephant (Festival Internacional del Circ Elefant d’Or), held in Girona, Spain from February 27 to Tuesday, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

Sports

-- The international friendly between Vietnam and Bangladesh will kick off at 7:00 pm on March 26 at Hang Day Stadium in Hanoi during the March FIFA international window, the Vietnam Football Federation said on Tuesday.
