-- Busan will keep working closely with Ho Chi Minh City and other Vietnamese localities to enhance bilateral cooperation, especially in seaport, shipbuilding, skilled workforce training, and tourism aspects, contributing to the South Korea - Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, heard a meeting between State President Luong Cuong and Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon on Saturday afternoon.

-- State President Cuong and the high-ranking delegation of Vietnam left Busan on Saturday evening (local time), concluding their working visit to attend the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders’ Week and bilateral activities in South Korea.

Society

-- A tropical depression off the coast of the Philippines on Saturday night strengthened into a storm, internationally named Kalmaegi, which is forecast to enter the East Vietnam Sea on Wednesday next week and become the 13th storm to hit the maritime region this year.

-- Heavy rain is forecast for the provinces from Ha Tinh to Da Nang and the eastern part of Quang Ngai Province in central Vietnam through Tuesday next week, with some areas experiencing rainfall of over 800 millimeters, posing a risk of flooding, according to the national weather center.

-- A crocodile weighing around 10 kilograms unexpectedly crawled across a road in Van Khanh Commune, An Giang Province, southern Vietnam on Saturday. The animal was then captured and handed over to forest rangers.

-- Torrential rains and flooding in Da Nang City, central Vietnam had claimed 12 lives, left four people missing, and damaged 78 houses as of Saturday afternoon.

-- The recent historic flooding in Da Nang City has killed dozens of metric tons of farmed fish in Duy Nghia Commune, causing losses worth hundreds of millions of Vietnamese dong.

Economy

-- At the end of the 2024-25 crop year, from October 2024 to September 2025, Vietnam’s coffee exports reached over 1.5 million metric tons worth more than US$8.4 billion, up 1.8 percent in volume and 55.5 percent in value compared to the 2023-24 crop year. This marks the highest export value ever recorded for Vietnam’s coffee industry.

-- The leader of Honda Vietnam announced at a press briefing on the sidelines of the Japan Mobility Show 2025 on Friday that the CR-V e:HEV RS model will soon be assembled in Vietnam.
