Storm Kalmaegi
-- Storm Kalmaegi entered the East Vietnam Sea early on Wednesday, becoming the 13th storm to hit the area this year, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said. At 4:00 am, the storm’s center was located over the eastern part of the central East Vietnam Sea, about 560 km east of Song Tu Tay Island, with maximum sustained winds of 134 to 149 kph.
-- Authorities in Khanh Hoa Province, south-central Vietnam will release water from 13 reservoirs to maintain flood-control capacity as storm Kalmaegi brings heavy rain, increasing the risk of flooding, the provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment said on Wednesday.
-- Residents crowded supermarkets in Quy Nhon Ward in Vietnam’s Gia Lai Province on Tuesday night to buy food and supplies ahead of storm Kalmaegi’s expected landfall on Friday.
-- Authorities in Vietnam’s Dak Lak Province ordered students in coastal communes to stay home from Wednesday afternoon through Friday to avoid the effects of storm Kalmaegi.

-- Authorities closed one lane near Bai Bac on Son Tra Peninsula in Da Nang City, central Vietnam on Tuesday after cracks appeared along a mountain slope embankment, while rocks also fell onto several nearby roads.
-- A company in Duy Xuyen Commune, Da Nang City, employing more than 5,000 people, said on Tuesday it will provide VND3 million (US$114) in aid to each worker following recent floods.
-- The Pasteur Institute reported 27 cases of meningococcal meningitis in southern Vietnam as of September 21, including 12 in Ho Chi Minh City, according to the city’s Center for Disease Control.
-- Security officers and staff at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City have been ordered to improve professional conduct after assessments found some cases of inappropriate behavior and unprofessional handling of situations, officials said.

-- Vietnam Airlines reported consolidated net revenue of VND30.78 trillion ($1.17 billion) in the third quarter of 2025, up more than 12 percent from a year earlier, while post-tax profit fell 15 percent to VND732 billion ($27.8 million).
-- Budget carrier Vietjet posted consolidated net revenue of VND16.93 trillion ($643.24 million) in the same quarter, down nearly seven percent year on year, with post-tax profit dropping 43.9 percent to VND320 billion ($12.16 million).
