-- Party General Secretary To Lam hosted a reception for President of the National Assembly of People's Power and President of the Council of State of Cuba Esteban Lazo Hernandez in Hanoi on Wednesday, on the occasion of the latter’s official visit to Vietnam.

-- Lao Minister of Technology and Communications Boviengkham Vongdara expressed his desire to strengthen close cooperation with Vietnam in the field of science and technology, heard the fourth bilateral meeting between the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and the Lao Ministry of Technology and Communications in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday.

-- To date, 102 out of 108 bus routes, accounting for over 95 percent of all buses in Ho Chi Minh City, have been equipped with contactless electronic payment systems.

-- Since mid-September, police in Quang Ngai Province, central Vietnam have inspected karaoke shops, massage parlors and hotels, discovering 100 people testing positive for drugs and prosecuting 46 suspects.

-- A tropical depression off the coast of the Philippines is likely to strengthen into a storm, move into the East Vietnam Sea, head toward the Gulf of Tonkin, and potentially make landfall in Vietnam. The tropical depression was centered over the eastern waters off the Philippines at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, with maximum sustained winds of 50-61 kph (level 7) and gusts up to level 9 , according to the national weather center.

-- A firefighting and rescue team under the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Public Security, along with officers in Dong Hoa Ward, were handling the scene where three trees had been uprooted at 9:00 pm on Wednesday, one of which fell and struck a woman and her grandchild.

-- Vietnam boasts multiple advantages for developing the luxury real estate market, especially through golf tourism and related activities, Dubai billionaire Dileep Kumar, founder of real estate company Heilbronn Properties, told a seminar held at the headquarters of Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on Wednesday.

-- The 18th International Exhibition on Machine Tools and Metalworking Solutions for Production Upgrade (METALEX Vietnam 2025) opened in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday, featuring more than 250 global brands. The event, which runs until Friday, is expected to attract 15,000 visitors.
