-- Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup paid its board members more than VND11.21 billion (US$430,000) in total remuneration in the first half of this year, up 63 percent year on year, according to the group’s newly released reviewed semiannual financial report.

-- Twenty South Korean startups have signed 66 memorandums of understanding worth a combined US$15.69 million under the 2026 Seuseuro Project program in Ho Chi Minh City, with many of the projects to be carried out in Vietnam.

-- Vietnam International Sourcing 2026, a global supply chain connection expo, will take place in Ho Chi Minh City from September 3 to 5, gathering more than 500 international business delegations from 60 countries and territories, with 3,000 curated B2B meetings and 13,000 direct business connections expected.

-- The death toll from a serious accident in which a passenger bus overturned on the National Highway 19 bypass in Hoi Phu Ward, Gia Lai Province, on Monday has risen to four. Gia Lai police have detained the driver for investigation.

-- Vung Tau, a coastal tourism hub of Ho Chi Minh City, welcomed more than 100,000 visitors in the first three days of this year’s National Day holiday, which runs from August 29 to September 2, with favorable weather and traffic conditions expected to drive visitor numbers higher in the coming days.
