-- Storm Tapah, the seventh storm to enter the East Vietnam Sea this year, strengthened early Monday and is forecast to make landfall in China later in the day, with heavy rains expected in the northern and mountainous regions of Vietnam from Tuesday because of the storm’s remnants.
-- A lunar eclipse was visible across Vietnam from 10:28 pm Sunday to 3:55 am on Monday, with the total eclipse phase, known as the ‘Blood Moon,’ occurring between 12:30 am and 1:52 am, according to local astronomical data.

-- Heavy rains from late Saturday to Sunday afternoon caused localized flooding and disrupted roads in Vietnam’s Dak Lak Province, with local authorities and border troops deploying response measures to limit damage, officials said.
-- Runway calibration flights at Long Thanh International Airport in Dong Nai Province, southern Vietnam are scheduled for September 25 ahead of a technical test flight on December 19, the project investor said on Sunday.
-- Vietnam’s traffic police said on Sunday that they fined a man from Phu Tho Province VND13 million (US$492) and deducted six license points for his failing to place a warning sign 150 meters behind his car after stopping on the Phap Van–Cau Gie–Cao Bo–Mai Son–National Highway 45 expressway to replace a damaged tire on September 3.
-- The World Health Organization said cholera is a growing global threat with increasing death rates, while Vietnam, which has reported no cases in the past 12 years, said on Sunday the country is still at risk.

-- Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade said the allocation of state-run utility EVN’s losses, totaling about VND50 trillion ($1.9 billion) in 2022–23, would have a “minimal impact,” with electricity prices expected to rise two to five percent in October, according to a draft decree submitted for approval. The ministry added that the retail electricity price adjustment could increase inflation by 0.03 percentage points.
-- UHY Auditing and Consulting Co. flagged significant uncertainty over the going concern status of Vietnamese property developer Quoc Cuong Gia Lai in its review of the company’s H1 2025 financial statements, citing short-term liabilities of nearly VND3.82 trillion ($144.7 million) against short-term assets of VND1.84 trillion ($69.7 million) as of June 30, including a VND2.78 trillion ($105.3 million) payable related to a court-ordered obligation in a land deal.
