-- Vietnamese Prime Minister Le Minh Hung will attend the 18th BRICS Summit and hold bilateral meetings in India from September 12 to 13 at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

-- If Vietnam’s fertility rate continues to decline, the country could exit its golden population period around 2036. The working-age population is projected to begin shrinking around 2044, while the total population could start declining around 2051, according to the Vietnam Population Authority under the Ministry of Health.

-- Authorities in Phu Tho Province, northern Vietnam, safely removed and detonated a bomb discovered by local residents in the Da River in Thinh Minh Commune on September 8, the Vietnam News Agency reported.

-- Ho Chi Minh City authorities have approved a project to dredge and improve the environment along the Ba Lon Canal while upgrading urban areas around the waterway in Binh Dong Ward and Binh Hung Commune, with a total investment of VND9.228 trillion (US$354.7 million) from the city’s budget.

-- Da Nang City in central Vietnam plans to invest in an interchange on the western side of Dragon Bridge while studying the construction of a new bridge over the Han River.

-- Hanoi is studying a four-level underground complex around the Opera House, combined with pedestrian tunnels to improve connections with Trang Tien Street and nearby cultural and art spaces, according to the Vietnam News Agency.
