-- At 6:00 am on Sunday, the eye of storm Bualoi, the 10th storm to hit the East Vietnam Sea this year, was located about 150 kilometers east of Da Nang City in central Vietnam and approximately 360 kilometers from the north of Quang Tri Province. The storm is expected to make landfall in areas between Nghe An and Quang Tri Provinces on Sunday night, with maximum winds possibly reaching levels 10–12 and gusts up to level 14, according to the national weather agency.

-- Due to the impact of storm Bualoi, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam has temporarily suspended operations at four airports in the central region, including Da Nang, Phu Bai, Dong Hoi, and Tho Xuan, on Sunday. Tho Xuan Airport will suspend flight operations from 10:00 pm on Sunday until 7:00 am on Monday.

-- The administration in Khanh Hoa Province, south-central Vietnam on Saturday announced that it had urged the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Construction to seek the prime minister's approval to begin the Nha Trang – Da Lat expressway project with a price tag of over VND25 trillion (US$945.8 million) before 2030.

-- Traffic police in Hue City, central Vietnam reported on Saturday that they had discovered a container truck carrying about 30 tonnes of pork, goat meat, chicken feet, and other products without documents verifying their origin or proof of quarantine and food safety certification.

-- The Ho Chi Minh City People's Procuracy proposed sentencing Le Thuy Hang, former general director of state-run Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC), to 28–30 years in prison for alleged embezzlement and abuse of positions and powers while performing official duties. She was accused of masterminding the illegal production of 6,255 SJC gold bars by introducing external raw materials into the company’s manufacturing process.

-- Police in Quang Ninh Province, northern Vietnam on Saturday announced the successful arrest of a Chinese national who was wanted for intentional murder while he was hiding in Mong Cai Ward 2 on September 18.

Economy

-- Vietnam’s largest private conglomerate Vingroup on Friday began construction of Hai Phong LNG Power Plant with a price tag of VND178 trillion ($6.7 billion) in the namesake northern city, the largest of its kind in the country.

-- The project management board for area 6 in Dong Nai Province, southern Vietnam on Saturday commenced construction of the first phase of an inter-port road project, with a total investment of over VND2.6 trillion ($98.4 million), aimed at connecting local seaports and Long Thanh Airport.

-- Vietnam Airlines was honored as the best airline for tourist services at the 2025 Vietnam Tourism Awards ceremony on Saturday morning.

-- To respond to storm Bualoi, Thanh Hoa Province in north-central Vietnam announced a school closure on Sunday, while Da Nang City in the central region has allowed schools to decide their own closure schedules to ensure the safety of students.
