BYD Auto Vietnam and FUTA EV Power, an electric vehicle charging infrastructure developer under Vietnamese transport firm FUTA Group, said on Sunday they had agreed to share EV charging infrastructure, allowing BYD owners in Vietnam to use the latter’s nationwide charging network.

The agreement gives BYD customers access to charging stations operated by FUTA EV Power, including existing facilities and additional sites the two companies plan to develop.

The companies said the partnership is expected to broaden charging access for drivers, particularly those traveling long distances.

BYD Auto Vietnam and FUTA EV Power also said they would jointly study new battery technologies, energy storage systems, and advanced charging station models to support growing demand for electric vehicles in Vietnam.

BYD currently sells 10 new-energy vehicle models in Vietnam, including seven battery-electric vehicles -- Dolphin, Atto 2, Atto 3, Seal, Han, M6, and Sealion 8 -- and three plug-in hybrid DM-i models -- Sealion 6, Seal 5, and M9.

FUTA EV Power said it is continuing to expand its nationwide charging network to serve a range of vehicles, including passenger cars, commercial vehicles, buses, trucks, and future specialized electric vehicles.
