Scheduled for June 27–28 and July 4–5 at Muong Thanh Luxury Can Tho Hotel, the two-phase event is jointly organized by the Can Tho Department of Industry and Trade, the city’s Women Entrepreneurs Association, the Can Tho Women’s Union, and the hotel.
It aims to promote and showcase durian, one of the region’s most valuable agricultural products, while supporting its consumption during the peak harvest season.
Ticket prices are VND199,000 (US$7.6) for adults and VND120,000 ($4.6) for children aged seven to 10, while children aged six and under are admitted free of charge, according to Can Tho Tre (Young Can Tho), a Facebook page operated by Can Tho newspaper and radio-television.
Visitors can enjoy unlimited servings of fresh durian and nearly 20 dishes made from the fruit, including durian almond jelly, pumpkin and durian sweet soup, durian crepes, and flattened green rice with durian.
The buffet also features Japanese cheesecake, rambutan sponge cake, jelly desserts, and a variety of refreshing beverages.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ha Vu Son, director of the Can Tho Department of Industry and Trade, said the event is a key initiative under the city’s trade promotion strategy to help farmers expand market access for local agricultural products.
He said the event goes beyond a traditional trade promotion program by extending the durian value chain through value-added processing and combining trade promotion with tourism.
“We are also organizing livestream sales during the event to reduce intermediary costs and directly connect orchard owners with consumers through smart postal and logistics platforms,” Son said.
Can Tho City has approximately 14,483 hectares of durian plantations, including nearly 10,000 hectares currently in production.
The city’s durian output is estimated at around 125,000 metric tons in 2026.
About 2,704 hectares of durian orchards, accounting for nearly 20 percent of the city’s total durian-growing area, have been granted official growing area codes for export.
