Ho Chi Minh City police on Sunday said that their Economic Police Division had initiated criminal proceedings against Sun Yupeng, also known as Ton Bang in Vietnam, and ordered his detention on charges of industrial property rights infringement Clause 2, Article 226 of Vietnam’s Penal Code.
Sun Yupeng is the former husband of Nguyen Thi Thai Hang, known online as Hang Du Muc.
Police investigation found that Sun had used the “Hang Du Muc” trademark to sell jujubes without permission from its registered owner, Nguyen Cong Hao, director of Hang Du Muc Co. Ltd.
Hao had authorized his daughter, Hang, to sell products through TikTok.
Sun Yupeng and his former wife, Hang, began importing and selling jujubes in 2022.
Sun knew that Hao owned the registered trademark and that Sun was not allowed to transfer or sublicense the trademark to third parties for production without the owner's consent, or use it beyond the scope of the authorization granted.
After divorcing Hang, Sun allegedly established Dich Duong Company to independently sell jujubes under the “Hang Du Muc” brand, taking advantage of the trademark's existing recognition among consumers without Hao's permission.
A search by Ho Chi Minh City police of a Dich Duong warehouse on Tan Son Street in Tan Son Ward, where Sun is the company's legal representative, uncovered 28,794 kilograms of Chinese-origin jujubes bearing the “Hang Du Muc” brand.
The company could not produce invoices or documents for the goods, which were valued at approximately VND1.5 billion.

A photo provided by police shows goods found in Sun Yupeng’s warehouse.
The case comes as Hang is serving a two-year prison sentence for customer fraud involving SuperGreens Gummies, commonly known as Kera gummies.
In November 2025, Hang, beauty queen Nguyen Thuc Thuy Tien and other defendants were sentenced to two years in prison each in connection with false advertising claims about the product on social media.
Between December 12, 2024 and March 14, 2025, the defendants sold 129,617 boxes of Kera gummies to 56,385 customers, generating more than VND17.5 billion in revenue and nearly VND12.5 billion in illicit profits.
