The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, in coordination with the Hanoi People’s Committee and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Friday held a press conference announcing the event, which will be hosted in Vietnam for the first time.
The festival is scheduled for October 3 to 5 at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel in Hanoi, with the participation of 48 embassies, international organizations, and foreign cultural centers in Vietnam.
It will present 45 national cultural spaces, 33 food booths, 16 international art troupes, 12 book exhibitors, and films from 20 countries.
Le Hai Binh, Vietnam's Standing Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, said the opening ceremony will be held in the spirit of honoring the culture of international friends and kept brief to give more time to performances.

Answering a question from Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper on what Vietnam will present to the world at the festival, Binh said that the organizers have carefully selected highlights that represent the nation’s cultural essence.
Hanoi has been tasked with preparing distinctive features of both the city’s and the country’s cultural identity to showcase.
Vietnamese artists scheduled to perform at the opening ceremony include Tung Duong, Hoa Minzy, Truc Nhan, and Hoang Thuy Linh.
After its inaugural edition this year, the organizers hope to establish the festival as an annual international cultural diplomacy event in Hanoi and a cultural brand for both the capital and Vietnam.
