The Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism said on Wednesday the draft proposal covers fee levels, collection methods, and management of revenues at major museums in the city.

Under the proposal, admission to the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture at No. 2 on 2 Thang 9 Street would cost VND60,000 per person, while the Da Nang Museum at 31 Tran Phu Street, and the Da Nang Fine Arts Museum at 78 Le Duan Street would each charge VND50,000 ($1.9).

The second facility of the Da Nang Museum at 281 Phan Boi Chau Street would charge VND30,000 ($1.1) per visit.

Residents of Da Nang, as well as school students, college students, and trainees at educational institutions, would pay a reduced rate of VND20,000 per visit.

The proposal would exempt people with disabilities, beneficiaries of cultural welfare policies, children under 16, students, senior citizens aged 60 and above, and diplomatic visitors from admission fees.

Visitors would also receive free entry on major holidays, including Lunar New Year’s Day, Da Nang Liberation Day (March 29), Hung Kings Commemoration Day (the 10th day of the third lunar month), and Vietnam’s National Day (September 2).

Under the draft, museum operators would retain 100 percent of collected fees for attractions managed by the Da Nang Museum, while the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture would retain 85 percent.

The department said the consultation process with agencies and organizations will run through Saturday before the proposal is submitted to relevant authorities for approval.
