Among the affected areas were Tran Van Ky Street, including sections behind Mega Market and the western dormitory complex, as well as vacant lots along Nguyen Chon, Thanh Nghi, Hoang Trung Thong, Tran Trieu Luat, and An Duong Vuong Streets.
These sites had become informal dumping grounds for domestic garbage and construction waste.
Following some reports on illegal dumping and environmental pollution in these areas, authorities in Hoa Khanh Ward mobilized forces to carry out large-scale waste collection and clean-up efforts at several identified hotspots.
Competent forces, environmental service units, and residents worked together to remove household waste, rubble, and other discarded materials.
At locations where waste volumes were particularly large, the ward deployed excavators, trucks, and specialized garbage collection vehicles to transport the waste and restore clean, open public spaces along the affected roads.

In recent months, Hoa Khanh Ward and other wards, including Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son, have stationed personnel at known dumping hotspots to detect and address illegal waste disposal activities.
The municipal administration has also adopted a range of measures aimed at improving waste collection, transportation, and treatment management throughout the city.
Local authorities have been instructed to review vacant land areas and less-frequented roads in order to develop management plans that prevent the emergence of new illegal dumping sites.
The city is also stepping up public awareness campaigns to encourage residents to adopt environmentally responsible practices.
City leaders have further called for the installation of surveillance camera systems at waste-related hotspots to identify offenders.

In addition, individuals found illegally dumping waste may have their violations publicly announced through local public address systems.
Enforcement efforts have already yielded results.
Several wards have successfully caught offenders in the act and imposed penalties for illegal dumping.
As a result, the number of illegal waste disposal sites in many areas of the city has declined.
