The municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on Friday afternoon that relevant agencies had been instructed to investigate and resolve complaints raised by residents and visitors.
The department said that it had recently received numerous reports concerning persistent solicitation by street vendors, littering along beaches, unauthorized camping activities on Son Tra Peninsula, and calls for stronger hygiene and safety measures on My Khe Beach.
In response to illegal camping on beaches in Son Tra Ward, the department directed the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourist Beaches to coordinate with relevant units in conducting inspections into coastal and peninsula areas to impose sanctions on offenders.
Local authorities reported that the Son Tra Ward People's Committee, border guards and the management board had carried out regular patrols and issued warnings against unauthorized camping and open-fire activities on beaches.
During the Reunification Day (April 30) and International Workers’ Day (May 1) holiday, enforcement teams dismantled a number of unauthorized structures and facilities used for spontaneous trading activities in the Bai Rang and Bai Da areas on Son Tra Peninsula.
Several vendors were also warned for failing to display prices and for organizing outdoor dining activities that negatively affected the landscape and contributed to environmental pollution.
Regarding complaints about littering and sharp objects being left on My Khe Beach, the department said it had ordered intensified environmental sanitation inspections along coastal routes and throughout Son Tra Peninsula.
The management board has been tasked with strengthening public awareness campaigns through loudspeaker systems, information boards, social media platforms, and other communication channels.
The board will also work with authorities to monitor and penalize violations during the peak travel season.
Businesses and service providers operating on the beaches have been required to sign commitments to maintain environmental cleanliness, provide waste bins, and take responsibility for collecting rubbish generated within their business areas.
