According to the People’s Committee of Tuy Phong Commune, part of the former Binh Thuan Province, the body of the deceased, identified as L.N.B.T., was discovered at around 5:30 am on Sunday, caught in a fence roughly 500 meters from where she was swept away.
Water levels in the affected area have receded, while local officials are continuing flood response efforts.
Damage assessments have yet to be completed.
The department stated that the province’s reservoirs remained structurally safe, describing the Tuy Phong incident as an isolated case in a flood-prone area.
The burst occurred at a privately built reservoir belonging to Viet Farm Trading Company on a mountainside above the residential area.
Heavy rains over recent days have filled local rivers and reservoirs to capacity.
The current Lam Dong Province was formed in July by merging three provinces Lam Dong, Binh Thuan, Dak Nong.
