Fire at 7-story home injures man in Hanoi after desperate jump to escape flames

A fire erupted at a seven-story house in Hanoi on Thursday morning, leaving one person injured after he jumped from a height to escape the flames.

The blaze occurred at around 8:00 am at No. 84 on Le Loi Street, Ha Dong Ward.

The property consists of seven floors and a rooftop.

The fire started on the first floor and quickly produced thick smoke that spread throughout the house, causing panic among nearby residents.

Upon receiving the alert, dozens of firefighters and rescuers were dispatched to the scene, along with specialized fire engines, ladder trucks, and ambulances.

During the incident, a man trapped inside the house reportedly panicked and jumped from an upper floor onto the roof of an adjacent building.

He sustained injuries and was later given medical attention.

At around 10:00 am, emergency personnel managed to bring an elderly person out of the building and immediately transferred the victim to an ambulance for medical check-ups.

Firefighters remained at the scene to fully extinguish the blaze and search for any additional victims.
