As of Monday, local authorities in Huu Lung District reported that 11 villages, home to around 480 households, were completely cut off by rising water levels from rivers and streams, according to Duong Thi Hanh, chairwoman of the district’s administration.
Since Saturday, water levels in the Trung and Thuong Rivers and several smaller streams have continued to rise due to sustained heavy rainfall.
By 7:30 am on Monday, water levels in the Trung River reached level 3 emergency thresholds, measuring over 2,000mm.

Despite widespread flooding that submerged more than 340 hectares of rice fields and crops, no fatalities have been recorded in Huu Lung.
Local leaders are maintaining a 24/7 emergency watch and have dispatched teams to assess and coordinate responses through both field visits and online communication platforms.
In Bac Son District, torrential rainfall has taken a heavy toll on residential areas and agricultural lands.
Nguyen Tien Trung, chief of the provincial police department, ordered immediate mobilization of rescue teams, including riot police and firefighting and rescue units, equipped with motorboats, trucks, and dozens of officers.
From Sunday night through Monday morning, emergency crews had successfully evacuated dozens of residents, including the elderly and children, from Bac Son’s Nhat Tien Commune.
Authorities also transported food and drinking water to stranded households and are actively monitoring potential landslide zones.

The provincial steering committee for disaster prevention said rainfall from Saturday through Sunday has caused severe damage in this mountainous province.
In some communes such as Tan Tri, Nhat Tien, and Quyet Thang of different districts, rainfall reached between 144mm and 209mm.
Also, the extreme weather conditions left three residents injured, over 110 homes and hundreds of hectares of maize, rice, and vegetables destroyed or heavily damaged.
