By 1:00 am, the mud had spread to a thickness of about 20cm within the construction site and overflowed into the alley.
Locals quickly notified the authorities and the Hanoi Metropolitan Railway Management Board (MRB).
That same night, MRB worked with local officials to deploy sandbags to contain the mud and mobilized workers and pumping equipment to clean up the site.

An MRB representative confirmed the incident to Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper, saying that they are currently awaiting reports from relevant units to determine the cause.
“We will inform the media once an official conclusion is reached,” the representative noted.
This is not the first time such incidents have occurred during the construction of the Nhon-Hanoi Station metro line.

On the afternoon of May 27, a similar mud eruption took place on Cat Linh Street, near the TBM tunneling site.
Mud spilled onto the road surface while the TBM was in operation.
Earlier, on February 20, during TBM operations on Giang Van Minh Street, a tunnel boring slurry also burst to the surface.
After inspecting the scene, MRB, along with contractors and consultants, initially determined that underground wells or old drainage pipes might have provided pathways for the tunnel slurry to escape to the surface.
