Construction is currently being accelerated.
The main bridge section has entered an intensive phase, with multiple components being carried out simultaneously, including concrete abutments and piers, the main steel arch structure, pumping stations, landscape water tanks, spiral staircases, escalators, elevators, and an artistic lighting system.

According to Tran Van Thi, director of the My Thuan Project Management Board, the consulting and management unit for the project, the spatial steel arch structure inspired by the shape of the nipa palm leaf is being fabricated by Dai Dung Corporation at four factories in An Ha, Binh Chanh, Long An, and Vung Tau.
The fabrication work has now surpassed 60 percent completion.
The entire steel arch structure will be fully assembled in Vung Tau before being transported to the construction site in early August 2026 for official installation.

Earlier, on the afternoon of May 11, Ho Chi Minh City vice-chairman Bui Xuan Cuong and Duong Anh Duc, a member of the Standing Board of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and head of the city’s Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, along with representatives from various departments, visited the construction site to witness preparations for the first concrete pour of the main bridge pier foundation.
The contractor aims to complete the structural components by June.
More than 250 engineers and workers continue operating day and night both at the construction site and fabrication workshops.

The Saigon River pedestrian bridge project has a total length of approximately 720 meters, including a 187-meter cable-stayed arch main span with a steel girder structure and a varying width of six to 11 meters.
The city previously selected an architectural design inspired by the nipa palm leaf, a plant associated with the culture of the southern riverine region.

Nutifood is funding the project under a sponsorship agreement signed in December 2023 with the city. The total funding is estimated at over VND1 trillion (US$38 million).
