Foreign man found dead on expressway in Vietnam
A foreign national was found dead on the Trung Luong – My Thuan Expressway, which passes through Dong Thap Province in Vietnam’s Mekong Delta, on Monday afternoon, according to local authorities.
Police and other relevant agencies in Dong Thap are investigating the case.
Through preliminary verification, the victim was identified as Aeron Lee Khei Chen, a Malaysian citizen.
At around 1:00 pm on Monday, several drivers traveling from Ho Chi Minh City toward the Mekong Delta spotted the body lying near the median of the expressway as they passed through My Loi Commune in Dong Thap, news site VnExpress reported.
The victim was wearing long pants and a long-sleeved black T-shirt, with only one white sneaker on one foot.
His head and face were covered in blood, and no vehicles were seen near the body.
The drivers immediately alerted local police, who rushed to the scene to secure the area and preserve evidence.
Authorities conducted a forensic examination, reviewed CCTV footage, and coordinated with relevant agencies to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death.
According to VnExpress, the Malaysian man landed at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City at 10:00 am on Monday, just hours before his body was found on the expressway.
