French pianist Lise de la Salle returns to Vietnam for Paris-themed concert

The concert will feature Maurice Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G major, a piece closely associated with de la Salle throughout her recording career, with the piano part serving both as a solo voice and an orchestral counterpart through exchanges and musical dialogue.

Organizers said the work’s opening jazz-influenced harmonies evoke a modern, elegant, and intellectual image of Paris.

De la Salle previously performed in Hanoi in 2018 in a piano duo recital with French pianist Thomas Enhco.

She began studying piano at age four and gave her first live-broadcast performance on Radio France at age nine before entering the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris at 11.

Since launching her international career in 2001, de la Salle has performed at major concert halls across Europe and around the world.

Friday’s concert takes place as organizers expand a program exploring French music through works blending youthful energy, refined beauty, and symphonic depth.
