Giant kites fill Quy Nhon sky in south-central Vietnam

The fest, which opened on Friday and runs until Sunday, is drawing large crowds of residents and visitors.

The provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the kite festival is being held along the Xuan Dieu beachfront and Nguyen Tat Thanh Square in Quy Nhon Ward.

Nearly 20 artistic kite clubs and teams from both inside and outside the province are participating in the festival.

Kite performances depend heavily on weather conditions, particularly wind speed, so flying schedules may be adjusted accordingly throughout the event.

As the enormous, brightly colored kites soared over Quy Nhon Beach, thousands of residents and tourists gathered along the shore on Friday afternoon to take photographs and record videos, many of which were later shared on social media platforms.

The beachfront has become a lively and vibrant gathering place during the festival, which is part of a series of summer tourism activities in the province.

Alongside the kite festival, a large culinary program is serving as another major attraction for tourists joining the event.

The food exhibition area is located at the parking lot on Nguyen Thiep Street, north of Nguyen Tat Thanh Square.

More than 60 booths have been set up to showcase and serve traditional dishes and OCOP (One Commune One Product) specialties from Quy Nhon Ward and other participating localities.
