Since August, Vietnam has been hit by successive natural disasters and prolonged historic rains that caused heavy human and material losses, with central provinces suffering the most.

In response, many countries and organizations have quickly announced assistance, with several providing two rounds of aid.

According to the Government News, the South Korea on Friday announced US$1 million in funding for emergency post-storm response activities, to be implemented through the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Vietnam.

The aid focuses on supporting people who were forced to evacuate and communities affected by major storms that devastated northern Vietnam in late September 2025.

IOM is carrying out a two-phase response and recovery plan, with the emergency phase providing multi-purpose cash assistance for essential needs.

Later, the early recovery phase supports housing repair and reconstruction through safe and climate-resilient housing training and conditional cash grants.

Also on Friday, the United Kingdom announced an additional GBP300,000 (nearly US$393,000) for humanitarian relief in central Vietnam.

Combined with GBP500,000 (US$655,000) announced in October, the UK’s total emergency support has reached GBP800,000 (around US$1.048 million).

Earlier, during his visit to Vietnam on Thursday, President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Milos Vystrcil said his country would provide humanitarian assistance worth approximately VND3.5 billion (US$132,812) through the Vietnam Red Cross to support people affected by storms and floods in central Vietnamese regions.

On November 15, the U.S. Embassy announced an additional US$500,000 in assistance to help Vietnam recover from storms Fengshen and Kalmaegi.

The funding targets the hardest-hit areas and covers urgent needs such as shelter and clean water.

This follows US$500,000 provided in October, bringing total U.S. assistance to US$1 million.

On November 14, the New Zealand Embassy said its government would provide humanitarian aid of NZD1 million (nearly US$570,000) to support Vietnam’s disaster recovery.

Meanwhile, the Australian Embassy also announced an additional AUD800,000 (over US$520,000) for communities in central Vietnam affected by storms Fengshen and Kalmaegi.

This supplements AUD3 million (over US$1.9 million) previously announced to support recovery after storms Bualoi and Matmo that hit the countries months ago.

Several countries have also shipped tens of tons of relief supplies to Vietnam.

On October 30, nearly 30 metric tons of relief goods from Russia arrived in Vietnam aboard an aircraft operated by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The shipment included 58 rescue and work boats, 1,000 sets of tableware, 1,000 blankets, 1,000 bedding kits, 55 tents and a large quantity of canned food.

These supplies were delivered to residents affected by flooding in Hue.

On October 13, Japan, through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), delivered emergency supplies to people in Bac Ninh Province including water purifiers, blankets, multi-purpose plastic sheets and jerry cans.
