Grab Cyclo service launched in Hue to promote heritage tourism

On Friday, ride-hailing firm Grab Vietnam started piloting its new service Grab Cyclo in Hue, allowing tourists to book rides on the city’s iconic three-wheeled cyclos through the Grab app for convenient visits to local heritage sites.

The initiative aims to boost digital transformation in tourism while supporting local residents, particularly traditional cyclo drivers, in improving their technology skills and livelihoods.

Tran Hoang Tuan, market development director at Grab Vietnam, said Hue is a unique city where culture and history intertwine along every street and corner.

Therefore, a cyclo tour is the best way to appreciate its beauty, he noted.

Nguyen Thanh Binh, deputy chairman of the Hue administration, emphasized the city’s commitment to green and sustainable development and welcomed initiatives that combine cultural preservation with technological innovation.

“This demonstrates a harmonious blend of heritage conservation and creative transformation. We hope the service will spread the message of a friendly, safe, and comfortable Hue,” he said.

One of Vietnam’s most attractive tourist destinations, Hue is known for UNESCO World Cultural Heritages such as the Complex of Hue Monuments and Hue Royal Court Music.
