The discharge started at noon after a brief technical pause, the official from the city's infrastructure project board said.
"Everything is functioning well now," the official added.
This marks the second source of water inflow to the river following the recent completion of pipelines connecting West Lake to the To Lich River, which began flowing on September 9.

The project aims to maintain the river's water level at 3.5 meters by supplying about 200,000 cubic meters of treated water daily from Yen Xa.
Since mid-August, all 245 wastewater discharge outlets along the river have been sealed to redirect flow to Yen Xa for treatment.
Landscaping and embankment improvements have been completed at 19 locations along the river from Cau Giay to Hoa Muc Bridge, with inspections finalized in late August.
