Hanoi driver fined after child seen on roof of moving car

The incident occurred on Thursday evening on Hoang Minh Thao Street, where a video circulating on social media showed a child on the roof of a moving car in traffic.

Traffic police identified the driver as D.N.L., 46, of Nghia Do Ward. 

She told police she had left the sunroof open and her daughter climbed onto the roof while the vehicle was moving. 

She said she instructed the child to come down and closed the sunroof immediately after realizing what had happened.

Officers from Road Traffic Police Unit No. 6 issued an administrative penalty for violating traffic laws by allowing a passenger to ride on the vehicle's roof. 

In addition to the fine, six points were deducted from L.'s 12-point driver's license.

Police warned that allowing passengers to stand or sit on moving vehicles poses a serious safety risk and could lead to accidents.
