Hanoi engulfed in grey haze due to severe air pollution
The air quality in Hanoi was the second unhealthiest among the monitored cities in the world on Wednesday
The air quality in Hanoi was the second unhealthiest among the world's cities monitored by Swiss air quality technology company IQAir on Wednesday morning, as the Vietnamese capital city was blanketed in thick clouds of smog.
An air quality monitoring station under the Vietnamese Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment’s Pollution Control Department at 556 Nguyen Van Cu Street in Long Bien District, Hanoi recorded the Air Quality Index (AQI) at 9:00 am at 215, which means it was extremely bad and seriously affected residents’ health.
Seven AQI measuring stations assessed the air quality as ‘bad,' according to the municipal Department of Natural Resources and Environment.
International organizations reported on the air quality in Hanoi.
According to the U.S. Embassy in Vietnam, seven monitoring stations ptoduced an unhealthy AQI.
Notably, Vietnamese AQI monitoring app PAM Air measured the index in Cau Giay District at 424, which is seriously harmful to human health.
