Police in Tran Phu Commune discovered that a Facebook account named ‘Cho sach’ (Clean market) had posted images accompanied by a claim that rice grains left to dry under the sun had exploded into popcorn-like puffs due to unusually high temperatures.
The post quickly attracted attention and comments.

Police later identified N.H.D. as the person behind the post.
He admitted to taking images from the Internet, editing them, and uploading them to attract views.
He acknowledged that the content was fabricated and misleading.
Police said that after being informed of the legal consequences of his actions, D. recognized his violation, voluntarily removed the post, and pledged not to repeat the offense.
The fine was issued under regulations against providing or sharing false, distorted, or defamatory information that harms the reputation of organizations or individuals.
Police urged citizens to verify information before posting or sharing online, avoid spreading fake news that can cause confusion or affect public order, and respect the rights and reputations of individuals and organizations.
