Hanoi attracted over 5.5 million international visitors in the first nine months of 2025, marking a 24.5 percent year-on-year increase, according to the Hanoi Department of Tourism.

During the same period, total tourist arrivals in the capital reached 26.07 million, up 23.8 percent from 2024.

Domestic travelers accounted for around 20.53 million, a 23.1 percent rise year on year, while international arrivals stood at 5.54 million, reflecting a 24.5 percent increase.

Tourism revenue for the period totaled VND98.36 trillion (US$3.72 billion), a 20.7 percent growth compared with the same period last year.

In September alone, the city received 4.17 million visitors, doubling the number from the same month in 2024 and generating about VND12 trillion ($454.3 million), up 46.1 percent year on year.

Of these, international travelers numbered approximately 666,700, representing a sharp 46.8 percent rise.

Despite ongoing domestic and global economic challenges, Hanoi’s tourism sector continues to expand and achieve positive results.

Several integrated hotel, resort, and tourism service projects have been launched to meet the growing demand from visitors.

Hanoi currently boasts 3,761 lodging establishments with over 71,000 rooms, including 85 hotels and serviced apartments rated from one to five stars, offering nearly 12,000 rooms.

For 2025, Hanoi aims to welcome over 30 million visitors, having already achieved 86 percent of this target by September.

The capital has promoted itself abroad through various campaigns in European markets, including participation in the International & French Travel Market Top Resa 2025 in Paris, France.

In addition, Hanoi partnered with Vietnam Airlines to launch the direct flight between Hanoi and Milan in Italy, which began operations on July 1, 2025.

In the coming months, the Department of Tourism will focus on enhancing management, ensuring a safe environment for visitors and offering a diverse, high-quality range of tourism products.
