Hanoi to stage unprecedented fireworks display tonight

The program is chaired by the Hanoi Party Committee, jointly organized by the Hanoi People’s Committee and Vietnam Television (VTV), with Sun Group participating as a partner and sponsor.

This is a grand music festival combined with fireworks on an unprecedented scale, featuring the participation of nearly 10,000 artists and performers, according to organizers.

Several types of fireworks will be set off for the first time in Vietnam.

This marks the first time Hanoi has hosted a large-scale cultural and political event combining artistic fireworks performances for an audience of up to 25,000 people, including 15,000 delegates and invited guests.

Leading Vietnamese singers will perform together in songs praising the beauty of the homeland and the nation’s achievements during the renewal process.

The program consists of three main segments, including ‘Epic Under the Party Flag’ recreating sacred historical milestones, ‘With the Party, Everlasting Faith’ opening a deep and emotional artistic space, and ‘Under the Glorious Flag of the Party’ concluding the night with a song of pride, aspiration, and vision for a new era of national development outlined at the congress.

The organizers said the event features the largest artistic stage ever built in Vietnam, with more than 3,000 square meters of mobile LED screens, combined with a modern system of sound, laser lighting, and 3D mapping technology.

The fireworks display is designed as a key emotional thread throughout the program, appearing at crucial moments to maintain momentum and gradually build to increasingly powerful and impressive climaxes.

“Fireworks types debuting in Vietnam, along with effects programmed specifically for the concert, have been designed in diverse colors and forms, creating a spectacular light stage across the night sky of the capital,” said the organizers.

Nearly 10,000 high-altitude fireworks units and a modern pyrotechnic fountain system have been installed and operated by a team of 80 domestic and international experts.

The entire display uses advanced programming and equipment capable of triggering explosions with precision down to 0.0001 second, allowing the fireworks to synchronize almost instantaneously with the music.

In particular, 950 pyrotechnic fountain rigs and 4,400 fireworks tubes have been installed directly on the stadium roof and along both sides of Stand B, arranged in a curved formation.

Outside the stadium, a fireworks launch zone comprising 4,600 high-altitude shells stretches from halfway along Le Duc Tho Street past the clock tower to the open area in front of the Aquatics Sports Palace in Tu Liem Ward.

Best places to watch the fireworks

Residents and visitors can choose from both elevated and ground-level locations to enjoy the unprecedented fireworks display celebrating the success of the 14th National Party Congress, scheduled to run from Monday to Friday.

For elevated viewpoints, high-rise apartments, hotels, and office buildings facing My Dinh National Stadium are ideal.

Recommended locations include residential complexes such as The Emerald and MHDI CT5–CT6 on Dinh Thon Street, two MHDI towers at Le Duc Tho-Tran Huu Duc Intersection, Sudico Building on Me Tri Street, and Apartment Building 789 on My Dinh 2 Street.

Other high-rise buildings are The Manor on Me Tri Street, My Dinh-Song Da Building on Tran Van Lai Street, Vinhomes Skylake on Pham Hung Street, Golden Palace on Me Tri Street, Block A of The Matrix One on Le Quang Dao Street, as well as Florence and Iris Garden Buildings on Tran Huu Duc Street.

High-rise hotels with views toward the stadium such as Sheraton Hanoi West on Le Duc Tho Street and Keangnam Landmark 72 on Pham Hung Street, also offer excellent vantage points.

At ground level, areas around My Dinh Square, including Le Quang Dao and Le Duc Tho Streets and the side roads near the Aquatics Sports Palace, provide good views of the fireworks.

Streets behind the stadium such as Nguyen Van Giap, Do Xuan Hop, and Phuc Dien are also suitable.

Locations like Cau Giay Park are considered attractive spots for watching the fireworks from a distance, offering open sightlines with minimal obstruction.
