Tran Dai Nghia Elementary School marks the first educational project developed on the site of the city’s former largest cemetery, now repurposed for public use.
Workers were busy putting the final touches on the campus of the school on Monday.
They were cleaning classrooms, tending to landscaping, and installing equipment in preparation for the school’s official opening.
Principal Van Minh Tan told Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper that the school is currently completing the final procedures to receive facilities from the project investor.
An inauguration ceremony is slated for May 19.
After the ceremony, the school is set to begin enrollment in early June, planning to open 10 first-grade classes and accept transfer students from surrounding areas.

Apart from the enrollment process, the school is preparing a range of summer activities, including student clubs aimed at meeting the educational and recreational needs of both students and parents.
Tran Dai Nghia Elementary School features 30 classrooms, each fully equipped with modern teaching tools.
Notably, every room includes a 65-inch interactive display designed to support the integration of technology and artificial intelligence into lessons.
The school also includes four English-language classrooms, four computer labs, and specialized facilities for music and physical education.
The Binh Hung Hoa Cemetery once held more than 54,000 graves and was known for long-standing concerns over sanitation and public safety.
The redevelopment is expected to provide green space and educational infrastructure for thousands of residents.
