On Sunday, the congress continued its agenda and officially presented the newly-elected committee.
During its session on Saturday, the congress agreed that the new committee would comprise 168 members.
Of these, 22 seats remain vacant and will be filled after the congress.
The committee then convened its first meeting to select its chair and vice chairs.

The committee selected Nguyen Phuoc Loc, deputy secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and current chair of the city’s Fatherland Front, to continue leading the organization for the 2025–30 term.
The committee also named eight full-time vice chairs and six part-time vice chairs.
Full-time vice chairs:
Truong Thi Bich Hanh, member of the Standing Board of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, standing vice chair.
Bui Thanh Nhan, member of the Standing Board of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, vice chair, chair of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation.
Nguyen Thanh Trung, Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee member, vice chair, chair of the Ho Chi Minh City Farmers’ Association.
Ngo Minh Hai, Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee member, vice chair, secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City chapter of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
Vo Ngoc Thanh Truc, member of the Standing Board of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, vice chair, chair of the Ho Chi Minh City Women’s Union.
Nguyen Minh Hoang, National Assembly deputy, major general, vice chair, chair of the Ho Chi Minh City Veterans’ Association.
Phan Hong An, vice chair in charge of specific areas.
Pham Minh Tuan, vice chair in charge of specific areas.

Part-time vice chairs:
Most Venerable Thich Le Trang, Standing Member of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, head of the Ho Chi Minh City Buddhist Sangha Executive Board.
Phan Thanh Binh, associate professor, PhD, former member of the Party Central Committee, member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, former chair of the National Assembly’s Committee for Culture, Education, Youth, Adolescents and Children, former director of Vietnam National University–Ho Chi Minh City.
Nguyen Thi Ngoc Phuong, Labor Hero, People’s Physician, professor, doctor, vice chair of the Vietnam Gynecology and Obstetrics Association, chair of the Ho Chi Minh City Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Association, former director of Tu Du Hospital.
Nguyen Van Phuoc, Meritorious Teacher, chair of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Science and Technology Associations.
Father Gioan Baotixita Nguyen Van Rien, National Assembly deputy, vice chair and general secretary of the Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics, chair of the Ho Chi Minh City Committee for Solidarity of Catholics, pastor of St. Joseph Parish, Phu Cuong Diocese.
Tran Diep Tuan, chair of the University Council of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

The congress also approved a delegation of 30 official delegates and two alternates to attend the National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
After two days of discussions, the congress concluded on Sunday.

In his closing remarks, chair Nguyen Phuoc Loc said the congress had worked in “a spirit of urgency and seriousness,” completing its agenda under the motto “Solidarity – Democracy – Compassion – Development.”
“The most important outcome of the congress is the high level of consensus among delegates,” Loc said.
“We have assessed past achievements, acknowledged challenges, and set clear directions and tasks to strengthen national unity and support the city’s development goals as outlined by the first Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress.”

Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, vice chair and general secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, praised Ho Chi Minh City for not only safeguarding citizens’ rights but also taking on national responsibilities, such as assisting residents in Khanh Hoa Province and other central provinces affected by recent storms and floods.
“Ho Chi Minh City leads the country in innovative approaches to Fatherland Front work,” Ha said.
She added that the city’s committee benefits from a strong membership, including representatives of different social groups, professionals, and scientists.

The congress approved resolutions to guide the committee’s work over the next five years.
Among them is the ‘Digital Front – Digital Citizens’ initiative, under which the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam Fatherland Front and affiliated political–social organizations will expand digital transformation, promote paperless meetings, and adopt digital systems for managing and evaluating staff performance.

The congress also endorsed the continued development of the ‘People’s Forum,’ and action programs for 2025–30 focused on representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the public.
Other priorities include strengthening oversight and social feedback, enhancing democratic participation, contributing to Party- and government-building, and mobilizing residents to advance Ho Chi Minh City’s socio-economic development.
