The individuals — identified as Bui Duc Nhien, Nguyen Minh Dung, Nguyen Thach Thao Nguyen, Pham Thi Quyen, and Nguyen Hoang Thai Duong — face charges of violating medical examination and treatment regulations, according to a statement from city police.
The arrests follow an investigation into the death of P.T.T.D., 32, who underwent multiple cosmetic services at the Paris Maxillofacial Aesthetic Hospital in Nhieu Loc Ward on May 28.
During the procedure, the woman developed signs of circulatory and respiratory failure and was transferred to Thong Nhat Hospital, where she later died.
Police said the surgical team had multiple violations related to medical licensing.
Two members — Nhien and Quyen — were licensed professionals but were not registered to practice at the Paris hospital.
Duong lacked a medical license and was also not authorized to practice there.
Investigators concluded that the team’s violations of medical regulations were the direct cause of the patient’s death.
The case was launched on May 29 following an order from the director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Public Security.
The investigation is ongoing, and police said they are working to identify further individuals or organizations that may bear responsibility.
