The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting reported a low of 24 degrees Celsius between 4:00 am and 6:00 am.
Skies were cloudy with weak sunlight and high humidity, causing mild fog in several areas.
Meteorologists said the conditions were caused by a weakening continental cold front and a fading intertropical convergence zone.
The system is expected to bring cooler mornings and reduced rainfall across southern Vietnam in the coming days.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast for the afternoon and evening, with localized heavy rain, lightning and strong gusts possible, the agency said.
Later in the year, stronger cold air waves from the north can occasionally lower temperatures in Ho Chi Minh City to around 19–20 degrees Celsius and in some other southern localities to around 17–18 degrees Celsius.
