The Transportation Works Construction Investment Project Management Authority of Ho Chi Minh City (TCIP) said it had instructed contractors to begin temporary resurfacing on Tuesday and conduct full repairs on September 21–22.

Dozens of potholes and depressions, some exceeding 20 cm in depth, have appeared in the underpass areas.

Surface-level lanes show signs of asphalt cracking and deformation, disrupting traffic flow and posing safety risks, according to TCIP.

Temporary repairs are expected to be completed by September 26, with the full restoration of surrounding road sections targeted for completion by September 30.

The affected portion of the Nguyen Van Linh route is part of a larger underpass project transferred to TCIP in 2020.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction said it has issued multiple requests urging the completion of the repairs.

Continued delays may prompt administrative review, the department added.
